Coronavirus and Its Impact
The Coronavirus emerged as a global pandemic in China in late 2019. Coronaviruses come from the same virus family, and few of them are fatal for humans. The 2019 SARS-Cov-2 is proving to be the deadliest of all. This virus has claimed countless lives over the course of 10 months. For this reason, it is considered as one of the most critical respiratory illness. These viruses are quite common in different animals. Bats might have caused the COVID-19.
A patient with COVID-19 has to experience fever, cough, chills, body aches, shortness of breath. In some advanced cases, some patients have also experienced symptoms of loss of taste, fatigue, vomiting, diarrhea, etc. This respiratory condition can be severe and even cause death. The medical professionals throughout the world are struggling and working day and night to serve the patients. As precautionary approaches, experts are advising to maintain social distance, frequent washing of hand, wearing masks, eating healthy food, etc. It takes around 14 days to show the symptoms mentioned above after being exposed to the virus.
The virus is transmitting through the tiny droplets whenever an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can travel through a few feet in the air. Thus, using masks and maintaining physical distance are effective prevention methods.
The root cause of the virus is associated with the seafood market in Wuhan, China. However, the officials are still not sure about the exact source of the virus. Air transportation throughout the world also contributed to the increased spread of the virus. Early patients took the effects of the virus as a form of pneumonia. However, their perception changed when many people started to die from the virus. As of October 16, 2020, over 1,092,968 people have lost their lives due to COVID-19. However, over 26 million people have made a successful recovery from the virus.
